House Sparrow destroys bluebird eggs (GRAPHIC)

A HUGE thank you to Janet Maddox from Missouri for letting me use this clip. It was recorded in her backyard. As you will see, within minutes the male House Sparrow destoys and throws out all 5 of the bluebirds eggs. House Sparrows and Eastern Bluebirds both nest in cavities. This means they often compete for the same birdhouses and nest boxes. House Sparrows are invasive to North America. Unfortunately, they are much more aggressive than bluebirds and almost always outcompete them. Due to this fact, when both species are in the same area, House Sparrows almost always win.
