It's officially chick season in Wisconsin's Green Bay! Check out Obie, the King of Cat Island, brooding the next generation of Piping Plovers. The record early nest hatched on Friday, and all three chicks that hatched are still doing well. This year marks the 10th anniversary of endangered Great Lakes Piping Plover successfully returning to breed in Green Bay. Audubon Great Lakes coordinates a team of staff and volunteers to monitor the nests, protect chicks from predators, and track banded birds from April through August. That's why it's more important now than ever to #ShareTheShore with Piping Plovers and other nesting birds no matter where you are in the Great Lakes and on beaches across the country! 📷: Amanda Matzke
