Little North II: Ep. 2 The River's Path | 600km Canoe Expedition

Battling winds and exhaustion, we attempt to traverse the lost upper reaches of the Assinika River. Canada's Little North, a vast wilderness sprawling for over a million square kilometers in the northern reaches of Ontario and Manitoba. First nations, explorers and fur traders have long paddled these storied waters. Heading whispers of the past, we had set out several years ago in an attempt to retrace a long forgotten fur trade route. It was a trip that left a lasting mark, and the allure of return grew stronger with the passage of time. Now, years later, we sought a continuation of that fateful adventure. Departing from where we ended our last odyssey we planned to embark on a 22 day expedition spanning 600km from rugged headwaters to the western terminus of this wild and unforgiving region.
