In this episode of Recon America, I'm exploring the Bachelor Loop above Creede, Colorado — the last great silver boomtown in the state. This 17-mile trail winds through what's left of a mining district that produced a billion dollars' worth of silver at today's prices: the massive Commodore Mine with its 200 miles of tunnels, abandoned townsites where hundreds of people lived at 10,000 feet, and a few surprises along the way — including a moose, a locked gate, and a fire station you have to see to believe. Creede burned down again and again during the boom years... so the town blasted its fire department into solid rock. It's the only one like it in the world. 🗺️ Download this exact route on onX Offroad: https://webmap.onxmaps.com/offroad/share/content?share_id=01KWTAE9V42GND9Q3Z449K5NJR 🔗 Get 20% off onX Offroad: https://bit.ly/onxtrailrecon20 🌎 TrailRecon Shop: https://bit.ly/trailreconstore ⛑️TrailRecon First Aid Kit: https://bit.ly/TrailReconFirstAidKit Follow me on: 🛻 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/trailrecon/ 📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/trailrecon/ 🌎Join the TrailRecon Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1473103579443617/
