Threading the film…
Join us as we descend from Gokyo Ri, stopping in for a well earned breakfast in Gokyo, before setting out for Thangnak. We cross the Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest in the Himalayas, winding through boulders and glacial pools to reach out lodge for the night. It's an early start with a big day ahead as we set out to cross the Cho La Pass. This is going to be the highest point of our whole trek, and there's a lot of climbing ahead. At 5,420m (and after four hours of climbing) we make the pass, get some incredible views and then descend down the other side into a new valley. We stay in Dzongla for the evening where we are treated to an amazing sunset, starry skies and a golden sunrise. This place was really one of our favourite villages, with a chilled atomsphere and incredible views of Cholatse and Ama Dablam. After sunrise we set out for our day's trek. It's a short walk to Lobuche, traversing around the edge of the valley, and not a lot of climbing - much needed after the Cho La. We rejoin the main EBC Trail and leave the quiet trails of Gokyo behind. Time to rest up. Everest Base Camp awaits.
