In this session, Joycelyn talks about her career to date and answers questions about PhD life, environmental advocacy, climate change, bioacoustics, and much more. Joycelyn is a Cambridge University PhD student and environmental advocate. Her research takes an interdisciplinary approach, combining machine learning, bioacoustics, forest ecology, local ecological knowledge and sociology to investigate the role of technology in forest conservation from a justice perspective. She is also the founder of ClimateInColour, an online education platform and community for the climate curious. Its purpose, to make climate conversation more accessible and diverse, has garnered a community of 30k+ conscious and curious individuals.
