PSE Sicario Review + Speed Test

PSE was kind enough to loan me the new Sicario for testing. After a couple hundred arrows, here is my review of what turned out to be the fastest bow I've ever shot. Interestingly, this is not the PSE bow I asked to test this year, as I historically don't love shooting speed bows. But PSE wanted me to shoot the Sicario and I can understand why. Yes, the bow is lightning quick, but it's got a lot more to offer than that. Despite a brace height of just 5 1/4", the Sicario is a stable shooting platform. I do like to have a 12-14" stabilizer out front with a few ounces of weight to steady the sight picture, but this bow is a shooter. It's also incredibly light and the carbon riser looks fantastic dressed in black. The downside for any speed bow is always going to be the draw cycle. And while the Sicario does not have what I'd call a super light-feeling draw, it's significantly better than I was expecting. I'd say the draw is on the stiff side, but very linear. There's no off-putting dump into the valley that I often see on bows with lofty rated speeds - even with the let off set to 85%. Of course, the big news is the speed. And with this bow set up to 70 pounds of draw weight and 30 1/4" of draw length, I shot a 350-grain arrow and saw speeds of 353 feet per second through my chronograph. That is easily the quickly bow I can ever remember shooting. Even with a heavier 455-grain arrow, I was still seeing speeds of 313 feet per second.
