Backpacking The Strawberry Mountain Wilderness | Day 1 In mid-September I went backpacking in the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness which is in the Malheur National Forest here in Oregon. This was an absolutely amazing 2 day trip and I had so much footage from our hikes that I broke this up into a two part video. Here is Day 1 of our trip. On the 14th we drove to the town of Prairie City and camped and the next morning drove up to the Strawberry Lake trailhead. We hiked to the lake and set up camp really quickly and then went on our first day hike to Slide Lake and High Lake. As you can see in the video, the scenery is absolutely stunning and we could see the state of Idaho in the distance (only 2 hours from us at that point).
