Between reroutes, flooded creek crossings, relentless elevation gain, and oppressive summer heat, Iowa pushed us to our limits. At several points, it felt like the challenge itself was hanging in the balance. But when things got tough, our campsite support team stepped up in a big way. Ice waiting at camp. Firewood ready to go. Live Mearffs. Encouragement when we needed it most. And when a mission-critical problem threatened the journey, they even jumped in to make a truck run that helped keep the Backpacking 10x10x10 Challenge alive.
