Threading the film…
This week I had the opportunity to lead two mentorship sessions at VidCon, and one message kept coming up over and over again: Most people quit too soon. Whether you’re trying to build a YouTube channel, improve your mental health, lose weight, or pursue a dream, meaningful change almost always takes longer than we expect. Two years ago, I was nearly 400 pounds. Today, I’m around 230 pounds. That didn’t happen because I found some secret. It happened because I kept showing up, even when the progress felt slow. I don’t believe in hustle culture. I believe in what I call sustainable hustle: working hard while protecting your mental health, caring for your body, making time for your family, and building something that lasts. If you’re discouraged today, I hope this reminds you that your story isn’t over yet. Keep going and Subscribe for weekly videos about mental health, hiking, weight loss, faith deconstruction, public lands, and living a more intentional life.
