We were heading to Nepal for 18 days adventure travel trekking expedition - from Lukla all the way up to Gokyo Lakes, crossing the Cho La Pass and visiting Everest Base Camp. As travel content creators, balancing weight with professional image quality is the ultimate challenge. This is the exact Sony Alpha camera setup we carried for the entire journey. We needed a versatile run-and-gun camera kit capable of capturing the full story: from ultra-wide landscape photography that frames the immense scale of the Himalayas, to punchy telephoto shots for capturing distant wildlife and peak details. Whether you are filming travel vlogs, shooting cinematic b-roll, or building a documentary portfolio, this lightweight yet powerful setup is built to handle storytelling in extreme and demanding environments. **Sony a7 V* A full-frame hybrid camera that offers us the best of both photo and video. Great dynamic range, excellent autofocus and a body that we know and trust to perform in challenging conditions. **Sony FE 28-70mm F2 GM** One of the best lenses on the market. Super versatile with a bright f2 aperture and incredibly sharp throughout the entire zoom range. **Sony FE 70-200mm F4 Macro G OSS II** A lightweight telephoto zoom offering excellent reach for compressing mountain scenes. For its size and weight, it seriously packs a punch. **Sony 1.4x Teleconverter** A compact and easy way to turn the 70-200mm into a super-telephoto setup. The teleconverter honestly feels like a cheat code and an essential addition to the 70-200mm. **Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM** For the expansive Himalayan landscapes, we needed something wide enough to capture the scale of the mountains and deep valleys. While this lens probably saw the least use, it was essential for capturing the widest scenes. **Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II** The classic all-round zoom and one of my most-used lenses of all time. Super sharp, lightweight and perfect for capturing daily life on the trail. In this video, we break down the gear, share images from the trek and explain why this setup worked so well in the Himalayas. ------------------------------------ *Musicbed* Take your films to the next level with music from Musicbed.
