Some journeys begin long before you take the first step. Before setting out on the Camino Arles, I made one stop that has been on my bucket list for years: the graves of Vincent and Theo van Gogh in Auvers-sur-Oise, France. As an art history student in college, I spent countless hours reading about Vincent’s life, studying his paintings, and writing papers about the man behind works like Starry Night. Standing here, after all these years was the closing of a circle that began in a classroom decades ago. Vincent and Theo now rest side by side, their graves covered surrounded by a few sunflowers a quiet reminder of the bond between two brothers. Theo believed in Vincent when almost no one else did, supporting him throughout his life. Today, it’s impossible to think of one without the other. This visit marks the beginning of a new chapter as I continue toward the Camino Arles, carrying with me the inspiration of an artist who found beauty in ordinary places despite extraordinary struggles. #VanGogh #TheoVanGogh #AuversSurOise #CaminoArles #CaminoDeSantiago #ArtHistory #TravelFrance #BucketList #LongDistanceHiking #TravelVlog
