When you hike through the White Mountains on the Appalachian Trail, you're not allowed to camp above tree line because it would ruin all the vegetation.... instead, you either have to walk ungodly amounts each day and miss out on a lot of blue blazes and cool snack hangs, or you have to stay at the AMC huts (which we didn't want to pay for) SO, instead, we hiked down a small trail under Lake of the Clouds hut and found a tiny little carved out corner on top of a boulder, justtttt barely big enough to fit our tent. It was a perfect stealthy little camping spot and it worked out perfectly because we were up early and on top of Mount Washington before 7AM. The first train up was around 8am I think... so we were literally the only people up there until the staff drove up for the day. :)
