When most people think about North Dakota, they think “flyover country.” I used to be one of them. But after spending time here biking, hiking, and backpacking across its vast landscapes, I can confidently tell you that couldn’t be further from the truth. North Dakota is a place of stories. Stories written into the badlands, carved by rivers, and carried forward by the people who call this place home. On this trip, I set out to experience it all, from hiking trails in Bismarck, to the rugged, legendary Maah Daah Hey Trail.
