SFS Directed Research Explained | Study Abroad with Real Research

In this video, we take a closer look at one of the most distinctive parts of the SFS experience: Directed Research. Through hands-on fieldwork, data collection, analysis, and scientific communication, students move beyond the traditional classroom and engage directly with real-world environmental questions. Directed Research allows students to build practical research skills while learning alongside scientists and faculty in the field. It’s an experience designed to deepen academic understanding, strengthen confidence, and help students connect their studies to future careers in science, conservation, policy, and beyond.
