We set the ambush for one of the bucks we hope to tag this coming season. He was addicted to apples last season, so that's where we will start the hunt for him this fall. The buck was really nice as a 3 year old two seasons ago but only a decent 4 year old last year (he barely grew from age 3 to 4). Regardless of antler size, this buck will be one of our main targets this fall. He spent a lot of daylight hours eating apples last fall, so I selected a stand that not only covers an apple tree loaded with fruit, but also covers the edge trail on that side of the big draw where the buck lives. These edge trails are great patterns for hunting bucks during the rut - easy to find, easy to hunt and very productive. Normally, these spots produce daylight activity and don't create a lot of impact - making them some of the best spots to hunt. *Get 20% off any products on the Whitetail Institute website.
