Backpacking Up To Broken Top Crater

On September 15, 2017 we wanted to backpack 11 miles over to my favorite place in the world, Golden Lake and spend the night there. Unfortunately the ranger at the trailhead told us that the Nash Fire was only about 3 miles away and it was not recommended that we hike to Golden Lake because we could get stuck there if the fire decided to migrate downhill. So our second choice was a 7 mile hike up to Broken Top crater, and we spent the night at No Name Lake. **As of 2019 camping is no longer allowed within 1/4 mile of the lake.
