Threading the film…
A day of volunteering at Stanage Plantation brought together teams from the British Mountaineering Council (BMC), the Peak District National Park Foundation and Rab to support a vital landing restoration project. Over the course of the day, more than 8 tonnes of aggregate were carried by hand and wheelbarrow up steep terrain to restore heavily worn landing areas beneath popular gritstone boulders. Years of use and erosion have degraded these areas, impacting both climber safety and the surrounding environment. This work helps stabilise the ground, reduce erosion, and protect this much‑loved landscape for future climbers, walkers and the wider community. It’s a simple reminder that access and conservation go hand in hand and that real impact happens when people come together to care for the places they love.
