We set out from Mack’s Canyon Campground and hiked about 3 miles into the rugged beauty of the Deschutes River Canyon, exploring the history of the early 1900s Deschutes Canyon Railroad War along the way. It was an incredible mix of scenery and storytelling, bringing a forgotten piece of history to life right where it happened. After the hike, we headed back to camp to relax, recharge, and enjoy some off-grid living. We fired up our portable oven and made homemade pizzas and fresh cookies, then kicked back by the propane fire and soaked in a peaceful night under the stars. The next morning, we kept things going with pancake bites, eggs, and fresh coffee before packing up our Lobo adventure trailer and heading out toward our next adventure.
