We traveled from Palmer Alaska to the Jim Creek Trailhead to venture to the Knik Glacier and camp for the two nights of December 30 and 31st. Overnight temperatures were ranged from 10f above to -10f below zero. Nothing in Alaska is totally safe. Risks abound, and we know that. Lots of preparation and planning went into this trip to ensure our safety. Going inside ice caves is inherently risky and we chose to take those risks. We ran a NuWay 4000 stove for two days and burned about 22lbs of propane. We registered zero CO on either carbon monoxide detectors the entire time. The tent floor is conventional 2x2x 3/4inch exercise tiles. A future video will be more focused on the tent and equipment setup so please subscribe .
