This is part 1 of a Road trip from Las Vegas all the way to Oregon and back. 8-days of overlanding and exploring Oregon. Camped every night in a different place, Hiked the best of Oregon’s trailers, Lots of waterfalls, a Hot spring on a cliff and tons of fun: Part 1 Day 1 – Drove from Las Vegas to Mammoth Lakes and crashed at Twin Lakes Campground to spend the night. Beautiful area with a lot of lakes, trees and lots to do. It is very close to Yosemite National park and worth checking it out if you haven't been there yet. https://g.co/kgs/ULUkkxj https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/234329 Day 2 – Drove the whole day and made it to Lake Tahoe. Also a great place to visit on its own. We stayed at Eagle Point Campground. https://g.co/kgs/qSztuL4 https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=506 Day 3 – Made it to Oregon! Crater Lake was our first big stop. The campground was closed, but we stopped to take in the amazing views. Crater Lake National Park https://g.co/kgs/h1xds1i We camped at Thielsen Forest Campground. It’s a free campground that surprisingly is very well kept. Definitely recommended. https://g.co/kgs/8c8dxUi https://www.outdoorproject.com/united-states/oregon/thielsen-forest-camp Day 4 – This was a big hiking day! We explored 4 waterfalls: Clearwater Falls https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/clearwater-falls?sh=k9dv1d Whitehorse Falls https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/whitehorse-falls?sh=k9dv1d Watson Falls https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/watson-falls?sh=k9dv1d Toketee Falls https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/toketee-falls?sh=k9d Those 4 waterfall trails are very close to each other. Only a few min drive from trail to trail, so we were able to fit all 4 trails in 1 day. The Toketee fall trail is definitely our favorite, it is one of the best trails in Oregon. At night, we set up camp at Toketee Lake, right by the water. Super peaceful. Part 2 Day 5 – Kicked off the morning with a soak at Umpqua Hot Springs. Warm water, killer views, and the perfect way to relax after all that hiking the day before. Umpqua Hot Springs https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/umpqua-hot-springs?sh=k9dv1d Later that day, we made our way to Silver Falls Campground for the night. Super quiet spot, surrounded by trees. Silver Falls Campground https://g.co/kgs/GXAdSnj https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&parkId=151 Day 6 – Hiked the Trail of Ten Falls, one of the best parts of the whole Oregon trip. Ten waterfalls in one hike. Some big, some small. A few even let you walk behind the falls and get close enough to feel the falling water. Trail of Ten Falls https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/trail-of-ten-falls-canyon-trail?sh=k9dv1d The entire trail is 9 miles. At the last-waterfall, a rainbow showed up. Saw a few people dipping into the freshwater, so we jumped in as well. The water was freezing cold, but totally worth it. At night we camped at Silver Falls Campground. Drove through Lassen National Forest and set up camp at Eagle Campground, right by the lake. Eagle campground https://g.co/kgs/95DKWfH https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232247 The view of the trees and the lake was amazing. It was a super spot, perfect place to rest up before the final stretch. Day 8 – Last day on the road. Drove through more forests and mountains. Enjoying the amazing views through our drive, we made it near Mammoth Lakes by night and camped at Lake Mary Campground before heading back home to Vegas.
