Day 7 on the Florida Trail was almost entirely road walk into town, which meant dodging cars, navigating tight shoulders, and passing through a place with… let’s just say a very enthusiastic display of confederate flags. The mental load was heavier than the physical today. I found relief in a resupply stop at Dollar General where—yes again—I grabbed some strawberry milk. And somewhere in the chaos of trying not to die, I came up with a genius gear idea: a lightweight foam brick to throw at passing cars that don’t give hikers space.
