Shad Blowups, Rain, and a Rental Boat? — Castaic Lake Fishing

In this video I head to Castaic Lake, CA on back to back days to do some bass fishing in early June 2026 during the shad spawn. Day 1 I fish the bank for a few hours throwing big swimbaits until and discover a school of bass close to shore busting on the shad, and try to trick a few into biting. The next day I go back for more, and end up getting out on a rental boat where I catch a pretty decent size largemouth.
